CALLBACKS: Situation Comedy, Descartes Week 1, Introducing the New Robot: Because Robots are Awesome
Of course, the real Descartes would not have his worldview threatened in the least by the existence of a robot, nor would he entertain Aristotle’s view of souls for even a minute, but sometimes we must make sacrifices for the sake of the joke.

Intellectual property is intellectual theft! Okay, not really.
I’ve been invited to exhibit at Envision Skate Collective’s upcoming slalom race for charity! If you’ll be at the race, stop by my table and say hey; after all, nothing goes together quite like skateboarding and webcomics.
CALLBACKS: The Pinhook Publicity Stunt, Hot Tub Talk Show: Envision Skate Collective and the 2012 Pinhook Slalom Open
Sweet news, sports fans: Envision Skate Collective has invited me to set up an exhibitor’s table at the slalom! From 10AM on Saturday 6/23 until the end of the event, I’ll be there drawing commissions, selling t-shirts and original artwork and watching the race. I’ll have more information next week on what shirts will be available, but you can bet the classic Descartes ‘iThink’ design will be in the lineup.
Also, as noted earlier, I’ll be running guest comics during the first week of July while I’m on vacation. If you’d like to do a guest strip for me, please send it to Jackson at thesketchy. Please keep ‘em 900px wide or less, and suitable for ages 10 and up.

I’ll just be honest with you, the full extent of my skateboarding knowledge comes from playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and watching SK8 TV on Nickelodeon when I was eight. I have never been able to ollie in my life. But Envision founder Peter Metzger has cool ideas and determination to implement them, and when cool things start happening, the enthusiasm can be infectious. If you’d like to find out more about the race and possibly get involved, there are tons of buttons and graphics just above that can tell you more with just a click.

Finally, the Existential Frogs from last week were such a hit, I made up two extra bonus Existential Frog comics! You can find them in the Facebook page’s Bonus Art album.
Thanks for your patience, guys. It was an absolute bear to get any momentum going on this one at all.
Um…so anyway, Happy New Year!
