comic #win
alt-text #disappoint
Come on, Descartes! The comic’s existence on the server validates its form, but the lack of alt-text renders it soulless!
there IS an alt text, it just isn’t overtly humorous.
Perhaps alt-text only truly finds itself in humor?
and ok, yes. It did have (mundane, but accurate) alt text. ALSO the comic itself was outstanding.
The correct term is “tooltip text” or “title text,” so called because the HTML “title” attribute directs the image to display a tooltip when the mouse hovers over it. Earlier non-standards-compliant browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 incorrectly rendered text in alt attributes as tooltip text. The “alt” attribute is meant to provide an alternate, textual rendering of the image–which is useful, for example, to a visually impaired person using a screen reader.
So basically, whenever you refer to it as alt-text, you’re discriminating against the blind.
Don’t you mean when Jackson fails to provide humor in the alt text he is discriminating against the blind?
We can’t all be Ryan North, you know.
I read it as this being the post for the second week of Descartes.
Unforeseen consequences! If only I had chosen a less ambiguous naming convention. Now Descartes Week is RUINED FOREVER
On the second week of descartes, my true love gave to meeee….
I am underwater
Is anyone else thinking Blade Runner?
